What do you know, the UN actually had the balls to call the raid by the Israelis a truce violation! Shocking?..a little bit. The trouble is that Israel has been "called" on a lot of things, during and after the war. But like a spoiled little brat, no punishment has been dealt out.
So, with the UN officially calling this latest act of terrorism by Israel a violation of the truce, I wonder now if there will be any repercusions for Israel (finally)...especially since they've asserted that they will continue to commit more raids like this "if they so deem necessary". One can only hope.
I feel sorry for the French troops (and for the troops of any other country) as part of the "peacekeeping" UN forces. I hope they realize that they have to stay out of the way of the Israelis, and that (even though they haven't been given a mandate), their mandate is to allow the Israelis to do as they please, and to make sure that they stop Hezbollah and Lebanon from saying "boo". I'm staring to think that Israel thinks that the UN forces are there to help them. Actually, I've thought that from the start. But no...in case the Israelis were wondering.....
THE UN FORCES ARE THERE TO STOP ALL ACTS OF AGGRESSION AND TO KEEP THE PEACE. I only wish they'd enforce it now by doing a little more than just calling Omert. Annan should make it clear to him that he will face severe repercussions, and indeed there should be some, if anything like this were to happen again.
I don't know about anyone else, but I'm...
